These handy small plates are perfect for morning toast, snacks or a late night supper. They are also a good size for young children's meals.
The plates are made individually on the potters wheel from a large lump of stoneware clay. After a few days drying they are turned over and trimmed to remove some weight from the edges. The bases are flat bottomed which gives a sturdy rustic feel to the plates. Once completely dried they begin the glazing and firing process, reaching temperatures up to 1280 Celsius.
Every plate is carefully thrown to a stick gauge so they stack beautifully with just a little variety in sizing which adds character to a set. My handmade tableware has been designed to fit nicely in a standard dishwasher and can be safely used in microwaves.
